We Support The Beech Academy

13TH MAR 2018

Team members from our Learning and Development team, based at our Training Academy, recently attended The Beech Academy (Special Educational Needs School) based in Mansfield, helping students celebrate International Women's Day.

International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.  It is celebrated in many countries around the world and a day when women are recognized for their achievements without regard to divisions, whether national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political.

Team members Rebecca and Avril delivered a workshop to ten Year 9 students on the theme of Women in the Workplace. The workshop began with a 'guess my job role', with the students successfully guessing that Rebecca is a 'trainer', by asking specific questions in search of the correct answer. Rebecca is one of five female Team Members working in the Learning and Development Team.

The students were divided into three teams of mixed abilities, with each team supported by a member of the team at The Beech Academy. Each team was provided with an iPad and asked to choose a team name, deciding upon; Superhero, The Dream Team and Klij! They then undertook an online multiple choice quiz around the theme of the automotive industry, with the Superhero team achieving a clear win - well done to all the Year 9s, what a fabulous achievement!

Rebecca and Avril then presented each of the students with a Certificate of Achievement and a Pendragon Training Academy notebook.

"We are delighted to have supported The Beech Academy, demonstrating Pendragon's commitment to encourage women to look to the automotive industry when seeking successful career pathways."
