Hilary Sykes Bids Pendragon PLC Farewell

Bidding the team farewell on her last day in the office, Hilary comments:
"As the year closes, it is also the close of my time with Pendragon, after 22 years.
"From junior lawyer to the role I will shortly leave, I have enjoyed the unique privilege of sharing the Pendragon journey, clocking up over three decades' involvement, from my time as an outside adviser in the 80's pre-"PLC" days, through to mega-expansion and consolidation, to today's digital retail world.
"What stands out for me is our "can do" attitude, resilience and willingness to challenge convention, plus the huge dedication and eagerness to learn which marks out our successful teams and individuals.
"I am immensely grateful for the opportunities Pendragon has brought my way, and the chance to meet and overcome some daunting challenges for our sector over the years. Working with great people, for a great company, in a great industry - who could ask for more? I have learned an immense amount, and am glad to be able to use the skills and experience I have gained here, in the Charity sector, where I will be volunteering for various causes around poverty and homelessness.
"I want to thank all I have worked with, especially Teresa and all my team, for your support and patience with my pursuit of excellence (which sometimes goes a bit OTT(!)).
"My special thanks go to Trevor, Martin and Tim: thank you for making Pendragon an exciting place to be and for trusting my advice.
"I wish you and all the team continuing success with the business and with the great opportunities you have, to excel and thrive, long into the future."
