MMC Crowned Delivery Initiative of the Year

25TH SEP 2015

Evans Halshaw is celebrating today after the Move Me Closer initiative won Delivery Initiative of the Year at The Hermes Retail Week Supply Chain Awards, which took place last night in London.

Competing against fellow retail giants ASOS, River Island, Decathlon and Watchfinder, Evans Halshaw impressed the panel of industry experts by demonstrating it is leading the way in retail supply chain excellence with the automotive industry's first click and collect scheme.

One of the judges commented:

"Evans Halshaw won because the judges felt it introduced an innovative delivery solution that could transform its sector.  Move Me Closer is a paradigm breaker that is genuinely putting the customer at the heart of its service."

The Move Me Closer scheme enables customers to browse 20,000 used cars on www.evanshalshaw.com and when they find a vehicle they're interested in, Evans Halshaw arrange to move the vehicle from one dealership, to a more convenient site at no additional cost or obligation to purchase. Since its launch in February, thousands of customers have taken advantage of the service.

CEO, Trevor Finn commented:

"We know that many of our customers do the majority of their research online and that visiting a dealership is often the last stage of the process rather the first, as in days gone by. With the success of Click and Collect on the high street, it seemed an obvious development that automotive retailers should follow suit and bring greater convenience to its customers. We're absolutely delighted Move Me Closer won Delivery Initiative of the Year in the face of such stiff competition. With 120 dealerships it's no mean feat to make Move Me Closer possible for our customers so a big thank you to the many teams across the business that make all our moves happen."
