Acquisition of MSF Peugeot - December 2006

December 2006 saw Pendragon acquire three more Peugeot businesses. Based in Leeds, Huddersfield and York the businesses will trade as Evans Halshaw.

Acquisition of Williamson - September 2006

In this acquisition of two sites in the North of England, Pendragon further developed their relationship with the Peugeot and Citroen franchises.

Acquisition of Speeds - March 2006

Ten businesses across the Volvo and Chrysler Jeep franchises were added to the portfolio in the acquisition of this Midlands based group.

Acquisition of Reg Vardy PLC - February 2006

During the high profile acquisition of this Northern based group, Pendragon secured 96 businesses representing a number of manufacturers.

Acquisition of Saab Santa Monica and Torrence - January 2005

Completion of this purchase increased our presence in Southern California by 30%.

Cadillac and Corvette Distributorship - November 2004

Pendragon became sole distributor in the UK. Operating from a number of sites, these editions to our portfolio strengthen the relationship with general motors.

CD Bramall Acquisition - March 2004

The largest acquisition to date resulting in national geographical coverage.

Lincoln Mercury Acquisition - March 2003

Opened our first Lincoln Mercury dealership in California, trading as Irvine Lincoln Mercury.

Land Rover Acquisitions - Feb 2003

Acquired two further Land Rover businesses in Newport Beach and Mission Viejo, California, USA.

Opened Altwood Windsor - Sept 2002

Opened a new BMW facility in Windsor trading as Altwood Windsor.

Opened Altwood BMW - Dec 2001

We opened a new facility at Maidenhead, trading as Altwood for BMW and Mini.

South Coast Jaguar Acquisition - Oct 2001

South Coast Jaguar at San Juan Capistrano enhanced our presence in California, USA.

Acquisition of Hornburg - April 2001

We acquired 2 high profile locations in Beverley Hills and Santa Monica, California. The Hornburg business, comprising of Jaguar and Land Rover extends our portfolio in America and strengthens our worldwide operating relationship with Jaguar.

Acquisition of Darmstadt - Jan 2001

Land Rover in Darmstadt joins our portfolio of businesses in Germany and we intend to add Jaguar alongside which further enhances our relationship with the Premier Automotive Group.

Acquisition of Munich and Anzig - Sept 2000

We acquired a further 2 Jaguar dealerships in Munich, Bringing the total representation to 5 in Germany.

Acquisition of Bauer Jaguar - July 2000

Bauer Jaguar, the third largest Jaguar dealership in America, became part of our portfolio, which forms the nucleus for further acquisitions.

Launch of GreatCarOffer.co.uk - May 2000

We launched our internet sales operation, which has generated significant traffic and the proportion of sales to visits is very small.

Lex Retail Group Acquisition - March 2000

We acquired 32 franchised dealerships from Lex Services PLC. This acquisition fits into our strategy of developing strong positions within the specialist and volume operations and further consolidates our position as the UK's largest motor group.

Telecom Services - April 1999

The integration of Telecom Services, a telecommunications company, enables us to utilise the technology available and differentiates us from our competitors.

Evans Halshaw Acquisition - Feb 1999

In February 1999 we acquired the whole of the issued share capital of Evans Halshaw making us the largest motor dealer group in the UK. As a result of the acquisition of Evans Halshaw, our enlarged group now offers significant representation of both luxury and volume franchises.

Pinewood Computers - April 1998

To enhance our portfolio even further we acquired pinewood computers, who are specialist in dealer management systems, telecommunications and remote security monitoring systems for the retail motor industry. Apart from providing services to all our team members Pinewood technology companies have substantial third party business.

Lex Acquisition - 1997

The acquisition of 17 volume car dealerships from Lex Service PLC enabled us to become the largest retailer of Vauxhall in the UK.

Motor bike Representation - 1995

We have created partnerships with a number of motorcycle manufacturers. These include Suzuki, Honda, Yamaha, Triumph, Kawasaki and Piaggio. We have developed a unique relationship with Harley Davidson representing them in 5 locations enabling us to become the largest Harley Davidson dealer in Europe.

1991

In 1991 we gained representation for Jaguar in Germany. Autohaus Avalon, a Jaguar dealership in Frankfurt joined our portfolio.

Volume Partnerships - 1990

We extended our portfolio to incorporate volume franchises, such as Ford and Vauxhall, enabling us to become the largest retailer of Vauxhall in the UK. We also extended our portfolio with the representation of Autohauz Avalon in Germany.

De-merger - 1989

Pendragon became a public limited company when the vehicle division of Williams PLC was de-merged in 1989, operating 19 car dealerships, representing specialist and luxury franchises, as well as a small contract hire business.
